The first step we take upon our hands when building a well in a developing community is researching which village needs it the most. When determining this, we take into account how many hours do women and girls walk to fetch water, as well as how many children live in that community. We believe this to be a vital part of our decision making, as both women and kids are the minorities most affected by lacking access to water. Once the location has been chosen, we (ideally) travel to that specific community to meet its people and to get to understand their crucial needs and current struggles.
Moreover, we make sure that 100% of our money is properly invested and goes to the village we choose and its people. We do not support or stand by organizations that do not show transparency in regards to their contribution.
An insider fact: The village selected for the building of our well also contributes to this cause. How, you might think? To show their commitment to preserve and take care of built wells, the heads of the communities donate a small amount of money to assure its maintenance.
Once all of this has been confirmed and approved, we begin with the drilling of the borehole, then analyze its water and finally creating the support structure of the well in question. The process takes from 1 to 2 months.
When you provide clean water to someone, it impacts every aspect of their life. Access to safe water can quickly turn problems into opportunities. As we all know, water is life and in 2021 no one should be forced to say they are unable to access this source of vitality. Our mission is to keep contributing to this cause, helping to create hope and happiness through the construction of water wells, the improvement of health conditions and consequently increasing school enrollments and economic prosperity. We are all in this together!
